At Dr Stephanie Barrett’s clinic, we take pride in offering the highest quality care for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Our dedicated team of experts, led by Dr. Stephanie Barrett, is at the forefront of rheumatology treatment and research. In this blog, we would like to introduce you to the leading member of our exceptional team.

First, what is rheumatoid arthritis?

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that primarily affects the joints, causing pain, inflammation and stiffness. It is a chronic condition that can lead to joint deformities and disability if left untreated.

Dr. Stephanie Barrett: Leading the way

Dr. Stephanie Barrett, our Medical Director, brings a wealth of expertise to our clinic. She held the lead consultant rheumatology post at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for eight years and was a senior lecturer in rheumatology at Imperial College. During her tenure, she led a team of over 12 doctors and 3 specialist nurses, overseeing various clinics and research projects.
Our clinic believes in a multidisciplinary approach to rheumatoid arthritis treatment. We collaborate closely with like-minded rheumatology colleagues, including specialists in orthopedics, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy. This collaborative effort ensures that our patients receive holistic and comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs.

Continuing education and global outreach

Dr. Barrett’s dedication to advancing rheumatology education extends beyond the clinic. She currently provides medical education at the Royal Society of Medicine, conducting live interviews and webinars on various autoimmune and auto-inflammatory topics, including Covid-19-related issues. Her expertise has been broadcast to 22 countries worldwide, making a significant impact on the global rheumatology community.
Additionally, Dr. Barrett’s contributions to rheumatology education have been recognised on an international level. Her involvement in the RSM/RCP global educational project with Lahore in 2018-19 exemplifies her commitment to sharing knowledge and expertise on a global scale.
